Handmade Invitations for our Harvest Dinner.
Here are the handmade invitations I made for our Harvest Dinner party we are having on November 14th. Don’t you just love getting a handmade card or invitation in the mail? I know I do, that’s why I always try to make any invitations I send out to friends. I got my supplies at one of my favorite stores, Paper Source. I could spend hours in there just poking around and looking at all their hand made items. The staff has a wealth of knowledge they are willing to share with you if/when you need help making your “idea” into a reality.
I started by using the gold embossing powder to decorate the leaves you see here. Embossing is super easy, just sprinkle the powder onto your paper, use the heating gun to melt the powder and it turns from a dull color into a shiny metallic really quickly…..Done! It really adds some pop to what you are doing.
I cut some smaller pieces of cream paper to put my Party Information stamp on so it would show up against the olive green of the card. Next I assembled all the pieces and used my “dots” (little sticky circles) to adhere everything to the card. Really, it’s that easy! It does take a little time, but it’s totally worth it when you see the finished product. Take a look!
So next time you’re hosting a party take the time to make your own invitations. Your guests will feel special before they ever get to your door.
