Hi Guys!! Welcome to the Houston Heights Parade!
We were up early on the 4th to get our run/bike ride in early to beat the heat when we got a call from a good friend and neighbor. They were on their way to the neighborhood 4th of July parade with their sweet little girl and new baby, did we want to join? Was there a doubt? Of course I would!! They know how much I love taking pictures and they knew this would be a rich occasion that only comes around once a year.
We live in such a great area of Houston, I love, love living in The Heights. It’s like living in a small town where everyone still knows the mail carrier by name, (she walks the sidewalks and calls us all by name and gives dog treats to all the pups that greet her!) know all of your neighbors up and down the street and we still have a bike/wagon decorated 4th of July parade!
It was hot, of course, it’s Houston, but a lot of fun watching all the kids ( and plenty of adults ) walking around in their best red, white and blue! After the parade the kids could have a snow cone, jump in a bouncy house or have their faces painted. I vote to have another one of these parades at Halloween, I would love to kick off the trick-or-treat evening with a costume parade! I may have to work on that! Hope y’all had a great 4th, cause I know I did!!
