We live in a wonderful area of Houston, called The Heights. There are so many great restaurants, galleries and shopping spaces around here. One of the best celebrations that occurs around here is called Lights in the Heights. It always on the second Saturday of December, this year it falls on December 12th. Our neighborhood closes off two of the streets to vehicle traffic so you can walk around freely. Some people pull wagons of iced beverages, some wear glow necklaces or carry Christmas flashlights as they walk the streets. This amazing display of Christmas lights is beyond anything you have ever seen before. Every house, along with many others not on the specific streets of the official route, are dressed with thousands of lights. If you are in the area this year give it a try, it’s a great tradition to start with your family. We have a big party on our porch, as many of the families do, many include bands or Dickens style singers.
