How can you make a holiday garland? It’s surprisingly easy… really! All you need is:

  1. One strand of thick garland, mine already has lights attached. (I got mine at Costco)
  2. One strand of garland, wide spaced branches (I got mine at Hobby Lobby)
  3. Extra Wide roll of mesh
  4. 2 different kinds of wired ribbon
  5. Large scale trinkets

I usually pull one of my big tables out to use as a work surface, but you could just sit on the ground if you don’t want to mess with a table. Making your own holiday garland, may seem like a daunting process but if you take it a step at a time you’ll be surprised at how great the finished product will look.

Pull your ribbon off the spool a little, pinch it together and tie it off with the spindles on your garland. No string, bread ties, wire…After you get your ribbon the way you want it, attach that strand to your big, pre-lit garland that is already attached around your front door.

Attach the main garland to the door and then attach the ribbon garland

Now all you need to do is attach your trinkets. Boom, done.
