When I got up this morning, I decided today was going to be Picture Day in Napa. Not that any of the other days I’ve been here in this beautiful place haven’t been, but whatever. I am taking an online photography class from a great company called, Clickin Mom’s, I love it. I have certain assignments I am supposed to complete each week, this week was Aperture. Any camera people out there? Being here gives me a great palette to choose from, don’t you agree?
I started the hazy, foggy day with a visit to another one of our favorite wineries….Caymus Vineyards. They have a great Cab, it’s a little expensive so we don’t drink it all the time, but when we do, it’s big and full and goes down like velvet. Here’s a couple of pics of their flower filled grounds.
Next stop on my list was a place where I could get something to eat (no drinking without PA girl and she was at work today, so sadly I refrained) so I chose V. Sattui. They have a great food/cheese/wine place on the edge of St. Helena. They also have a beautiful picnic area where you can sit, drink your wine and just enjoy being outside. This was my mom’s favorite place to visit whenever she came to Napa. She passed away about 7 years ago so I said a little prayer and waved to her when I parked my car.
I ended my day with a visit to the CIA….yep, The Culinary Institute of America on the outskirts of St. Helena. I walked around there for a while, bought a coffee and then hit the road. It was a gorgeous day out today here in Napa. I’m heading home next week so I am going to be squeezing a lot into this weekend. Stay tuned.
